The 2023 Corvette Z06 is often considered a viable supercar alternative, offering performance levels comparable to supercars at a relatively affordable price. But can it beat the another American top dog in a drag race? That’s what we’re about to find out in this drag race organized by carwow as they line up the C8 Zo6 against the Ford GT.
This particular Ford GT is one of only three examples from the third generation Signature Series, featuring a retro-inspired livery paying homage to its GT40 ancestry. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged Ford 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine, producing 660 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. In contrast, the latest Corvette Z06 is equipped with GM’s new naturally-aspirated flat-plane crank 5.5L LT6 V8, delivering 670 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque.
While the C8 Z06 excels in getting off the line, the 2022 Ford GT holds a significant advantage in weight, tipping the scales at just 3,014 pounds compared to the Corvette’s 3,434 pounds.
