Upon its debut, the Chevrolet C8 Corvette instantly gained praise for its transformation from a front-engined to a mid-engined sports car featuring an innovative design that rivals the more expensive offerings from Europe.
The C8 Corvette is powered by a 6.2 liter, small-block V8 engine dubbed the LT2, it is unique in that it is the only naturally aspirated V8 engine in its segment. The engine, which is rated at an impressive 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque (when equipped with performance exhaust), is the most powerful engine ever introduced in an entry-level Corvette.
Thanks to the folks at AutoTopNL, we finally got to see the full capabilities of a base C8 Corvette, equipped with a 6.2-liter cross-plane crank V8, as it pushes its limits on a de-restricted section of the German Autobahn.
