The 1972 Chevrolet Corvette Custom is built upon a specialized chassis crafted by Street Shop Inc. in Athens, Alabama. This chassis seamlessly fits beneath the original Corvette floor pan without body modifications.
It features C4-based independent suspension with coilover shock absorbers and Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes, including 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers gripping Bendix C4 14-inch front and 13-inch rear cross-drilled and slotted rotors. Nitto NT555 tires adorn CCW billet aluminum wheels, sized 18×8 inches in the front and 18×10 inches in the rear, complete with laser-etched ZR1 center caps.
The power comes from a dyno-tested LS9 all-aluminum V-8 engine, Eaton-supercharged, generating 552 HP and 568 lb-ft of torque. It’s matched with a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission, driving a Dana 44 differential with flexible 3.50 gearing. Heavy-duty 3.5-inch diameter aluminum half-shafts handle the LS9’s substantial power.
The car features a stunning finish, with its glowing metallic blue paint applied by Stuart’s Paint and Body Shop Inc. in Dallas, Texas. The interior remains true to the original factory design but incorporates modern features like air conditioning, Retrosound audio with Bluetooth, and a front brake line lock integrated into the shift lever.
