The ARES Modena S1 Project may seem like just another supercar at first glance, but it’s actually built upon the Chevrolet Corvette C8 platform and is offered in Speedster or Gullwing variants.
The S1 is equipped with the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated LT2 engine sourced from the Stingray, as opposed to the flat-plane crank V8 found in the Z06. However, Ares has enhanced its performance, resulting in an output of 600 metric horsepower (equivalent to 591 hp in the US) and 470 lb-ft of torque.
For comparison, a standard Stingray generates 495 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque with the Z51 Package. This power is transmitted to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Ares claims the S1 can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in approximately three seconds and reach a top speed of around 184 mph.
Inside the vehicle, you’ll discover opulent seats and a sophisticated infotainment system featuring three distinct displays. The driver’s display can interact with the central screen. Unlike the Corvette C8, both S1 Project models boast a body constructed entirely from meticulously crafted carbon fiber. Additionally, the design has undergone extensive CFD analysis to ensure efficient engine cooling and well-balanced dynamic handling.
