AutoTopNL recently tested the American V8-powered vehicle on the German Autobahn. The C8 Corvette features a 6.2-liter V8 engine, called the LT2, which produces 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque with the Z51 Performance Package.
However, the European version has been adjusted to meet the EU’s gas particulate filter requirements and makes 468 hp and 452 lb-ft of torque. Despite the slight reduction in power, the Euro-spec Stingray still maintains the small-block character. Additionally, the C8 is offered in both left and right-hand drive configurations for the first time, making it more convenient for European drivers.
During the test drive on the Autobahn, the car easily reached 266 km/h (165 mph) but could have gone faster if the road were clearer and straighter.
