A unique Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is currently being auctioned on Bring A Trailer. Dubbed the “Hero Edition ZR1,” this 2011 model was built to raise awareness and funds for the Kids Wish Network HERO program, which supports pediatric hospitals across the United States.
Under the hood, the Hero Edition ZR1 boasts a supercharged 6.2-liter LS9 V8 engine that has been upgraded with Lingenfelter performance components, resulting in a power output of over 700 horsepower – a significant increase from the stock Corvette’s 638 horsepower. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission featuring a twin-disc clutch that provides impressive clamping force.
This Hero Edition of the C6 Corvette boasts a hydro-formed aluminum chassis, along with carbon-fiber and composite bodywork, and is finished in Blade Silver with exposed carbon-fiber accents on the front splitter, roof, roof bow, and side skirts. The car features xenon headlights, fog lights, front and rear fender vents, a rear lip spoiler, and polished quad exhaust outlets. The 19″ and 20″ multi-spoke wheels with red accents are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires with Magnetic Select Ride Control, and stopping power is provided by red Corvette-branded Brembo calipers over carbon-ceramic rotors.
Inside, the red leather bucket seats with ZR1-embroidered headrests and carbon-look trim accent the color-coordinated dashboard and center console. The carpeted floor mats feature Hero Edition embroidery, and amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, Keyless Access, push-button start, head-up display, CD stereo, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, and ZR1-branded door sill guards.
The LS9 V8 engine, reportedly modified by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, sits under a carbon-fiber cover and is mated to a six-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential. The three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 220-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, as well as gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, boost pressure, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 2k miles.
There’s only one 2011 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Hero Edition in existence, and if you want it, you should head over to Bring A Trailer now to place your bid!
