The R8C Corvette Museum Delivery Experience

For many of us, purchasing/owning a Corvette is a dream that can take a lifetime to fulfill.   For some, the dream comes true early in life while for others, it might be something that happens in the twilight years.  But regardless of when that dream does become a reality, the opportunity to take possession of a Corvette is an experience not to be forgotten.  Ironically, the vast majority of Corvette owners end up taking possession of their car at a local dealership or thru a private purchase.  While the experience of climbing into a Corvette and driving it off of a dealer lot is still an incredibly special moment, Chevrolet, in partnering with the National Corvette Museum, has long offered an option that makes the experience almost as magical as purchasing a Corvette can – and SHOULD – be.

It is known as the “R8C Corvette Museum Delivery Experience.”   When purchasing a new Corvette, selecting RPO (Regular Production Option) “R8C”, GM provides consumers the opportunity to take delivery of their brand-new Corvette straight from the factory (well, almost.)  For an additional $995 (added to the purchase price of a new Corvette when ordered/purchased), the future owner will take possession of their new Corvette as part of a special day-long event hosted at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  The NCM resides across the street from GM’s Corvette Assembly Plant and provides customers with an entirely unique experience when picking up their car.

New owners, along with up to three additional guests (13 and older) are welcomed to the NCM with special signs commemorating the event.  A personal, special VIP guided tour of the NCM is conducted by a member of the museum.  As part of this tour, the new owner will have the thrilling experience of viewing their new Corvette on display in the lobby of the Museum.  Next, a member of the NCM Delivery Team will provide a detailed vehicle orientation with the new owner(s), followed by a thorough delivery presentation of their new vehicle.  A unique gold decal is placed on the inside of the drivers’ door jamb to signify the importance of this memorable occasion. Customers will also receive a personalized interior dash plaque, a personalized wall plaque and an individual photograph in front of the Museum – weather permitting.

Customers also have the opportunity to purchase exclusive merchandise showcasing the “R8C Museum Delivery” logo, custom Corvette Museum bricks that will be showcased in a special commemorative section of the Museum, and build sheets/window stickers (if available) during the program presentation. Deliveries can also be viewed world-wide via a live webcam inside the Museum.

Any customer who participates in the R8C program may also have the opportunity to visit the Bowling Green Assembly Plant where their car was built. However, due to the plant’s production schedule, there could be select dates that are not available.  R8C Customes also receive an individual one-year NCM membership. Memberships which come with the R8C Museum Delivery program are upgradeable to both a family membership and/or a lifetime membership.  R8C customers also have the opportunity to get on the NCM Motorsports Park track in one of the Museum’s C7 or C8 Corvettes by purchasing touring laps at a discounted rate.  Laps are not available during private events, or while the track is in use by an event. Track availability is also dependent on weather.
