This 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Gasser Resto Mod is based on a custom frame made by Nickey Chicago’s technical advisor, John Tinberg, created a custom frame for this vehicle, which showcases a two-tone silver-and-gray paint scheme. The car’s 502 CI Chevrolet crate engine is a sight to behold, with eight injector stacks that will easily capture the attention of any onlookers.
With a cam upgrade and electronic Hilborn fuel injection featuring Holley computer controls, the engine has been tuned to deliver 600 horsepower on pump gas according to dyno testing. To ensure optimal cooling, the inner headlight bezels were opened up to allow for extra airflow into the engine compartment.
The car also boasts a rebuilt Muncie M22 “Rock Crusher” 4-speed transmission and a new Strange Engineering 3.70:1 Positraction rear end with old-school ladder bar and coilover suspension. Inside, the restored hardtop and new tinted glass cover a custom black leather interior, which includes Wise Guys seats, a padded C1-style steering wheel, a Hurst shifter, and a dash-mounted Sun tachometer.
This car is designed for street use but is also capable of delivering impressive quarter-mile times, making it a dream come true for classic gasser enthusiasts who want the best of both worlds.
