Heck of a Car, Heck of a Cause
The Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction took place in Scottsdale this past weekend and one of the charity auctions was a 2020 Corvette Stingray. The car was purchased for a whopping $370,000.
One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to the Heartstrings Foundation, which is a non-profit helping provide guitars to veterans and active-service military personnel for helping with PTSD, suicide, and other mental health issues. It’s safe to say, someone really put their money where their heart is.
Heartstrings Foundation also helps with music therapy programs for children’s hospitals, first responders, transitional housing for battered women, drug cessation programs, and other non-profit organizations around the country. This is a worthy cause, indeed.
The Corvette was a Shadow Gray Metallic with Adrenaline Red interior. It was optioned with the 3LT trim package, Z51 Performance Package, Spectra Gray Trident Wheels, and a carbon flash painted High Wing spoiler. The winner of the car also got a guitar signed by several country music artists, including Chris Lane, Devin Dawson, Chuck Wicks, Andy Albert, the members of Parmalee, The Band Camino, and Boys Like Girls.
Additional perks of the sale included two days at the Corvette owner School course at Spring Mountain. Also, 50 guitars will be donated by the Heartstings Foundation to the winner’s charity of choice.
Another 2020 Corvette was auctioned off as well. It was a Torch Red Stingray with Black racing stripes and the Adrenaline Red leather interior. It had just 686 miles on the odometer and the High Wing spoiler, Engine Appearance Package with Red engine cover, Carbon Flash mirrors, and the interior Carbon Fiber Trim package. This non-charity sale set a record with a hammer price of $125,400. With commission, the total sales price is $137,500.
