The Convertibles are Coming
It’s been kind of a long time coming and it wasn’t helped by the global pandemic, but now the 2020 Corvette Convertible is officially being produced. According to Corvette Blogger, the production of the car officially started yesterday, which means Chevrolet will be rolling these cars out from now on.
The plant has been making convertibles for the Captured Test Fleet, but now they’re shifting to making cars for customers. We would imagine the guys actually building the cars didn’t see a difference, but to us, this is a milestone. The convertibles will be getting out there in the world.
The plan is to slowly ramp up production as things move along. This will allow Chevy to catch any quality issues that might pop up in the first few batches of the car. As far as quality goes, you can bet that the plant has things down pretty well at this point, but you can also bet that Chevrolet will be doing extra quality checks, especially at first.
Overall, this is good news. 2020 has been a tough year for everyone, so it’s nice to be able to deliver some good news from time to time. The C8 Corvette Convertible being produced officially is very good news indeed.
