2020 Corvette C8 Convertibles Are Leaving The Factory Doors!

Time to celebrate!

2020 Corvette C8 Convertible

It’s been a long time coming, and after numerous delays including the global pandemic, Bowling Green has started pushing roofless 2020 Corvette C8‘s out the door!

While production officially started on August 4, it was a ramp-up style production line. This means starting a second shift that works after the main Coupe production line to keep social distancing and pandemic safe practices in order.

However, rumors and some discussions over at CorvetteForums.com have shown that Convertible VINs are getting the final check-off and moving out the door. The next big step will be getting enough of them produced to put on car transports to dealerships.

While Chevrolet originally planned to have 20,000 convertibles out this year, that was… optimistic, we think is the best word. Still, the fact that they should be able to get a few thousand out the door before the 2021 model refresh, itself pushed to the end of October 2020, is progress.

Now that the convertibles are soon to be “in the wild,” keep an eye on Corvsport.com (or sign up for our newsletter!) so that we can bring you the latest news and reviews from owners and respected car journalists.
