Getting in the 9s
The official time for a 1/4 mile drag strip run for the 2020 Corvette is 11.3 seconds at 121 mph. That’s already really fast. However, the official time reported by Chevrolet seems to be a little high because several publications have reported stock 2020 Corvettes doing far better on the quarter-mile than Chevrolet’s official time.
Now, however, there’s an even more impressive time set by one of the cars. There’s a 2020 Corvette with an Extreme Turbo ETS kit pushing 15 psi of methanol boost out there. This car managed to break the 10-second barrier with a time of 9.95 seconds at the Woodburn Dragstrip in Woodburn, Oregon.
The car did two earlier runs that were 10.49 and 10.05 seconds respectively. The Stingray was fitted with the turbocharger and an optional ETS Intercooler. The car also featured 46mm wastegate, Mahle pistons, a Raybestos Prototype Clutch, Ferrea valvetrain, direct port methanol kit, and Mickey Thompson 19-inch drag radials.
