Today photos emerged on a popular C8 Facebook page that stirred up confusion about possible new paint codes from GM. How did we miss this breaking news?!? With more manufacturers offering matte or satin finishes from the factory, my first thought was, how cool is it that GM is jumping on the bandwagon? Then reality set in.

First, let’s take a deeper look at the Z06 that sparked the debate. Then, since many shared their own wrapped C8s, I was compelled to add a photo gallery of stunning matte and satin-finished C8s from around the internet. By the way, if you are interested in finding out more about museum delivery, CorvSport did a full feature here.

Once the questions and speculation started pouring in about a factory matte finish,

the confusion was quickly cleared up.

There was additional confusion about whether this Z06 was wrapped or PPF’ed, with most agreeing it was a wrap. Then came the next debate, whether was it a matte or satin wrap, and this picture from Kristin appeared to settle that one.

With nearly 500 reactions (as of the time of publication), the overall consensus (despite the various debates), was a huge thumbs up!

Here’s a representative snapshot of the positive comments.

The process can be daunting for the uninitiated
