1963 Corvette Production Volumes

For 1963, the Corvette’s body and chassis were completely redesigned and for the first time a coupe body was made available. The new generation was known as the C2 Corvette. In 1963 it had a center window “split” on the coupes marked the one year only iconic “split window”.

The chassis featured an independent rear suspension with a single transverse leaf spring. 1963 was a big production year with the first year of the C2 Corvette seeing production of 21,513 units (and still demand exceeded supply).
